Steve Cheney is a scientific software engineer at Deep Origin, where he builds computational infrastructure to advance oncology research and mechanistic pathway modeling. Trained in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, he specializes in pipeline development, ODE modeling frameworks, and cloud-native workflows (AWS, Docker) for systems and cellular biology. Internally, he leads the development of tooling to optimize and restart mechanistic solvers for cancer pathway analysis at scale. He also co-founded Open Access Computational Biology, a new group dedicated to contributing open-source tools for Computational Biology and mentoring scientists new to programming and open-source development.
