Announcing the Deep Origin Data Hub

We are announcing the Deep Origin data hub, an expansion of our platform that seamlessly integrates data management, scalable data processing and AI-driven analysis. In the Deep Origin data hub, researchers can design experiments, create protocols, write experimental notes, upload raw data, perform complex analyses, create interactive visualizations, generate publication ready figures, and collaborate all in a single place.  Free access to our beta is available to the first 200 users*.

Life science research is incredibly complex, requiring collaboration among interdisciplinary teams of researchers with diverse expertise. From experimental biologists who generate vast amounts of data, to computational scientists who analyze these large datasets using advanced algorithms, the need for flexible tools has never been greater. That’s why we’ve developed a versatile platform designed to meet the demands of modern R&D. With the ever-increasing size and variety of data, ranging from simple CSVs to massive genomic sequences, Deep Origin is equipped to support researchers across the spectrum, from experimentalists to computational scientists. Using Deep Origin, researchers can store data, write experimental notes, and run scalable analysis, enabling them to rapidly analyze and interpret data.

The Deep Origin platform include three primary modules: (a) a data hub where users can upload data, manage metadata using databases, and write experimental notes using digital notebooks, (b) an AI assistant that makes analysis a breeze, and (c) cloud workstations that provide powerful infrastructure for intensive analysis.

Integrate all of your data with our data hub

Flexible databases: In the Deep Origin platform, databases enhance the traditional spreadsheet, offering an efficient way to organize and manage data. Databases are useful for tracking samples, managing biological designs, and capturing experimental results. To help your team capture your data consistently, each column within a database can be configured to capture a specific type of data such as text, numbers, tags, files, and more. Relationships between biological samples can be captured easily using reference columns, while formula columns can be applied to perform calculations such as isoelectric point from amino acid sequences automatically.

Files: Gone are the days of scattered files across instruments, laptops, drives, and cloud storage. In Deep Origin, files of all sizes from small PDFs to large sequencing data can be stored along with their metadata. Our platform also provides a wide variety viewers for biology-specific data such as for plasmid sequences, chemical structures, protein structures, and microscopy images, as well as viewers for standard file formats such as CSV, Jupyter notebooks, and Python scripts.

Integrated lab notebooks: Biological experiments are increasingly complex, with a variety of readouts. Documenting these modern experiments requires more than just text. Our next generation lab notebook with integrated databases can be used to capture text, images, videos, and data files, as well as write and execute Python code to generate interactive plots all within a single notebook. This provides a rich canvas to capture any type of experiment and its analysis.

Get insights faster with our AI assistant

To help researchers get to insights faster, we’ve infused AI into our platform. Our bio-aware AI assistant can take your data and use Python to create interactive visualizations. Our AI assistant is equipped with a wide variety of life science tools from cheminformatics to statistical analyses. With our assistant, scientists can also get answers by simply as asking questions such as “What are the properties of these chemicals?”

Perform intensive analyses with workstations

Within our platform, researchers can also use our powerful workstations to perform intensive analyses such as using Snakemake pipelines to process metagenomics sequence reads and train ML models. Inside our workstations, computational scientists can use our command-line client or Python client to quickly access raw data from their databases, as well as store processed results.
